great strides

Before I got pregnant I was one of those people who would go on a workout kick for a few months and then give up when I did not see results! When I found out I was pregnant with Ethan, I told myself, "you are going to get into the best shape of your life"! Now obviously this was difficult considering I was eating ice cream every night! However, I did pre-natal Pilates every day to counter act the mint chocolate chip! I felt so good during my pregnancy, and even though I gained more weight then I actually wanted to(no thanks to Breyers), I had toned my body and felt great! Now after I delivered is a different story! I had a c-section so I could not really start any form of exercise until 8 weeks post partum. At that point I started to do Pilates again, but the pounds were just not coming off!! So, I decided to give Stroller Strides a try. Stroller Strides is a company that focuses on workouts for mom, with the babies along for the ride! They meet in my neighborhood 2 times a week, what could be better?? This changed my life! Since starting Stroller Strides back in April I lost all of my baby weight and an additional 2 inches! Check out Stroller Strides in your area, I promise you will love it! www.strollerstrides.com

Blonde Ambition

Are you a blonde like me?? Well, what I mean is, were you born with blonde hair and now you have to help it along with some highlighting? Do your blonde highlights turn an awful brassy color overtime? Well mine do, and I am sick of having to go to the salon in between color, in order to pay a ridiculous amount of money to "tone" down my brassy hair!! If this happens to you, I have a cure!! Purple shampoo! Purple shampoo is used on blonde and gray hair to tone down the ugly brassiness that happens to us unfortunate ladies! I use Clairol Shimmer Lights purple shampoo, for about $7.00. It not only tones down brassiness it also makes your blonde highlights shine! I use it every other time I shampoo. So do not go to the salon and spend a ton of money to fix your unwanted brass...use purple shampoo!!

Kitchen Aid....

Did you know that you can use Endust on your stainless appliances?? It's true! Instead of spending a ton of money on those stainless steel cleaners, you can use the tried and true wood polish, that you already have at home! Use it the same way as you would stainless cleaner. Rub it in with a soft cloth, and voila!

Now you can save your money for new lip gloss!!

brighten up your day

Having a bad day? Is it gloomy outside? I've got a quick fix that will put you in a better mood!

Go buy a new lip gloss! I was having a bad "mom day" the other day, so I took a trip, with my little one of course to the mall. Knowing that I did not have a lot of time (nap time was coming soon) I went straight to Sephora! After trying on a few glosses, I found the perfect one. It is by YSL and it's super bright pink (color is PUR)! Yes pink, it's all the rage this fall! I instantly felt my spirits being lifted, all because my lips were bright pink and glossy!! Yes, the price tag was a bit much at $30.00, but I could have done A LOT worse, had I purchased a new pair of skinny jeans at $200.00!! SO, the next time you are in a bad mood, or the weather is getting to ya...go get a new bright colored gloss ( a shade that works with your complexion)!! I promise you will feel great!

Pushing the envelope!

Hey Moms! Do not be afraid of the "skinny" jean!

This fall, throw your "mom" jeans to the side and try something a little edgier! Yes Moms edgy, we can do it! Skinny jeans are not just for skinny people, in fact they are flattering on a lot of different body types. I have a mom friend that had never tried on a pair of skinny jeans, in fact she thought she could not wear them! I recommended that she try a pair, she did and now she won't wear any other style.
Advice when shopping for skinny jeans:
1. a little bit of stretch is fine- about 2% makes them flattering and keeps the tush pulled in, anything more makes them too fitted!
2. buy a size smaller than you think you need. If you can get them buttoned but they are tight through the leg, that is the right size. DENIM STRETCHES!
3. you want them to be a bit longer than you normally would wear to get the "scrunched" look at the ankle. This also helps elongate your leg.
4. Check out: J Crew- they have the "matchstick" jean that is a skinny jean, but is a little more of a straight leg for those that need to ease into this trend!

How to wear your new jeans:
1. with a tunic (long top) belted or not
2. with flats, heels or a great knee high boot
3. with a great boyfriend blazer

Let me know if you tried skinny jeans and how you liked them!
Good Luck and remember push the envelope a bit!
